1. Who we are
Readeroo provides a phonics-based reading app for children aged 3–7. We are the data controller for personal data described in this policy.

2. What this policy covers
This policy explains how we handle data on the Readeroo website, including the waitlist and the beta contributor sign-up. For children's voice recordings and data in the app, see our children's data policy.
3. Data we collect on this website
- Waitlist sign-ups: your email address and, if you choose to give them, your child's age band (3-4, 5-6 or 7+) and the type of phone you use (iPhone or Android). We also record which page you signed up on. We never ask for your child's name.
- Beta contributor consent: a record that you gave consent (the wording you agreed to and the time), the page you agreed on, your browser's user agent, and your email address if you choose to give it.
- Analytics, only if you accept: how visitors use the site, collected by Google Analytics 4. See section 4.
- Technical data: basic server logs (IP address, browser type) kept by our host for security and performance.
We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal data.
4. Analytics and cookies
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand how parents find and use this website, for example which pages they read and whether they join the waitlist. It runs only after you choose Accept analytics in the cookie banner. Until then, no analytics cookies are set and no analytics script is loaded.
- Cookies:
_gaand_ga_*, which distinguish visitors and sessions. They last up to two years unless you clear them or withdraw consent. - Provider: Google acts as our data processor. Google signals and ad personalisation are switched off, and we don't use analytics data for advertising.
- Retention: analytics event data is kept for two months.
- Where it's processed: Google may process this data outside the UK and EU, including in the United States, under its standard contractual safeguards.
- Not on children's pages: no analytics run on the contributor page or the beta pages (
/contribute/and/beta/).
You can change your choice at any time using Cookie settings at the bottom of every page. Choosing No thanks stops analytics and removes the analytics cookies.
5. Who handles your data for us
- Formspree receives waitlist and beta consent form submissions and delivers them to us.
- Hostinger hosts this website.
- Google provides analytics, only if you accept.
Some of these providers may process data outside the UK and EU, including in the United States.

- To understand which ages and devices to prepare for at launch
- To keep a record of beta consent
- To see how the website is used, if you accept analytics
- To keep the website secure and working
7. Legal bases (UK/EU)
We process waitlist data, beta consent records and analytics data on the basis of consent. We process server logs on the basis of our legitimate interests in operating a secure website.
8. How long we keep data
Waitlist data is kept until launch communications are complete or you ask us to delete it, whichever comes first. Beta consent records are kept for as long as we need to show that consent was given for the recordings, or until you ask us to delete them. Analytics data is kept for two months.
9. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict use of your personal data, and to withdraw consent at any time. Contact us at hello@readeroo.kids.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date below shows when it last changed.
